One Storm
This
gallery shows the story of one remarkable storm that I witnessed from its beginings
as a column of rain from a small cloud. The cloud spawned a downburst causing
considerable damage to the local flora and became a mature storm with less destructive
force, though beautiful in the late afternoon sun.
The
storm occured at Queen Victoria Rock, 60 km south of Coolgardie, Western Australia,
one hot February afternoon in 2003. I had gone out to scout for future landscape
photos, hoping to shoot some of the mosses that grow beside puddles on the granite
outcrop.
I
got more than I expected ....
